My dear readers, I know who you are. I know how you think and how you act. I know when you get a new gadget or smartphone a manual is nothing more than a worthless unattractive obstacle, keeping you from your precious precious new toy. But what if it isn’t? Check this out and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Manuals, as it should.

O hi, didn’t see you there! Yeah, I switched the language settings in my head to English. Why? Because it’s a goddamn awesome language and I don’t want anyone to come here and not understand a word I’m saying. So from now on I’ll be writing in English but that doesn’t necessarily have to mean I’m ditching Dutch or my Dutch visitors. Every now and then you’ll probably see some Dutch pop up in the comments section and that’s ok! I still love Dutch! So that’s what the title is all about, I immerge myself into another language….but there is more to it!
MERGE is my new demoreel where I show off the skills I’ve learned thoughout 2 years of motion graphics in Devine. It’s basically a boy-meets-girl story in a surreal universe where everything is dynamic. We follow the male character as he passes several places before finally meeting with his girlfriend. At that moment they collide, share memories and emotions and eventually become one identity. I used Cinema4D for all the 3D graphics and After Effects for all post-production. Special thanks to Elise Hoste, who has been so kind to parade in front of the camera and Thomas Heylen for lending me his top notch camera. Be sure to check out his demoreel as well because It’s mighty fine!
Real Awesome Reels!
Motion Monday – Amsterdam Osdorp
The city district Amsterdam Osdorp recently merged with Slotervaart and Geuzenveld-Slotermeer and was given the name Amsterdam Nieuw-West. This change also meant the end of 20 years of restructuring urbanized areas. To celebrate everything achieved, a book was published. ‘The Metamorphosis of Osdorp’ gives an overview of the architectural highlights. We were asked to create an intriguing video, featuring the buildings we find most characteristic.
Motion Monday – Gavo.tv
Het zijn zulke showreels die me er terug doen aan herinneren hoe awesome motion graphics kunnen zijn. Als ik dit zie, krijg ik gewoon de kriebels om vanalles zelf te proberen!
